Dear All
Here.s fresh insights from what ive learnt in the worship elective from planetshakers conference’ 08. Here it goes…..
Worship (Ps Henry Seeley)
- it is big on heart stuff
- if u got all the talent but no heart, comprehension of where this gift came from, then its wrong focus.
-worship is a heart expression of our love/devotion for god, not about music, songs
- we are the temples of holy spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16 you yourselves are god.s temple and that god.s spirit lives in you) and when we worship, he comes in and infiltrate our lives
-worship is putting God back on the throne of our lives, aligning ourselves in his kingdom’s order
-dont be overly focused on the P.A, speakers, mics though they need to be in working order, but instead place topmost priority and be aligned, focused, in worshipping god. Spending time/ cultivating his presence, is the most important thing. For, he provides desires of you heart. Psalm 37:4 ” Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you desires of your heart”.
John 12:1-8
Martha (John 12:2) Martha served. She made sure that the gathering was a good one. Dont ever take the background team, production, mic person for granted, for without them the vocals, instruments, music wouldnt be set up.
Lazareus: Its easy to rock up to him in church but dont forget that when we were ‘dead’ Jesus poured down and gave us a new life. Singing is not just singing the lyrics but also remembering, commemorating what he has done for us. His works perfected on the cross.
Judas: Though not mentioned in the bible for the ultimate betrayal of Jesus by Judas, Ps Henry, was of the notion that Judas just got too familiar with Jesus and succumbed to complacency in his heart, that he eventually reached breaking point. Judas had access to Jesus 24/7 as his disciple. Never get complacent with Jesus’s love for u.
Mary(John 12:3): Ran down at the feet of Jesus, overwhelmed with passion/ desperation for Jesus. She gave her perfume and poured at Jesus’ feet. She pushed through the crowd to worship Jesus. Bowing down to Jesus wipping his feet with her hair. She was not a single bit intimidated on how she would be perceived. She surrendered to Jesus in her worship, bowing down, giving her valuable perfume pouring it on Jesus’s feet.
Worshipping is not being self-conscious but instead, is about being, CHRIST- Conscious.
Hallelujah! AMEN

Hi everyone!!!
Hi Pak Ken! haha welcome to your first time blogging! It’s easy isn’t it?
haha I love that picture of you, it always cracks me up cos you look so cool! hahaha:)
Anyway, I just want to encourage everyone, that God is indeed faithful! Looking back at how He provides- the people, instruments, resources etc, I’m amazed by His grace!:)
I know that we’ve had ups and downs, it being inevitable in ministry, but when we start to look towards God, everything else starts to fade into a distance. Our problems, worries and ‘what ifs’ seem so small and insignificant compared our God of the universe. Whenever I look up at the sky filled with bright stars and whenever I see a rainbow, I think of creation and its continual cry of praise to God- of His goodness, love and faithfulness that last to the end.
I remember what Mel told us once, that being in the worship team is not merely a Sunday affair, but a natural outflowing of our everyday praise to God. One of my fav quotes is, ”Ministry is built on our knees“. Let’s keep praying and believing for more, not to build a ‘ministry’ but to build His throne and Kingdom, amen?
“God is good, all the time.
He put a song of praise, in this heart of mine!”
-Charlene
